Training Policy

PAYMENT

• A £75 deposit is needed to secure a place on the course.
• The balance of the course fees must be paid before going to open water.
• The £75 deposit is transferable but not refundable.
• No refund fees can be issued once a course has started.
• We will accept no liability for consequential loss, damage or expense occurred due to the delay, change or cancellation of any course due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

PARTICIPATION

• Candidates may not participate in any diving activities without a satisfactorily completed medical form.
• Some courses are run subject to numbers. We reserve the right to cancel courses and offer alternative venues.
• From time to time, standards and course contents change. To comply with these new standards, we reserve the right to alter the course content at any time.
• The instructor reserves the right to require a full repeat of any sessions that are missed or attended late by a participant or to offer an alternative course. This may incur additional costs.

KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT

• All necessary knowledge reviews, prior reading assignments and video reviews must be completed if required before any instruction can take place.
• Failure to complete assigned tasks may result in a dive or session being cancelled. In this case a 'catch up' fee may be required.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

• The instructor reserves the right to assess each students suitability to continue onto the next stage of any course.
• The instructor reserves the right to withhold certification or offer an alternative certification if they consider participants not to have met course requirements.
• Any extra tuition required outside of the course schedule may incur additional costs.
• Any dispute arising regarding this judgement can be brought to the attention of the course manager who will independently assess each individual case.
• The instructor reserves the right to reduce the student to instructor ratios upon assessing the suitability of the student. If 1:1 tuition is required, this may incur additional costs.

EQUIPMENT

• Full scuba kit may not always be available, in which case, time will be used to conduct swims and snorkelling skills.
• Equipment used for open water training is the sole responsibility of the student, and loss or damage will be charged at full price.
• Regulators returned without dust caps correctly fitted will incur a £10 inspection charge.
• Urinating in wetsuits will incur a £10 cleaning charge.

OPEN WATER DIVES

• Final site arrangements may be altered without notice due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
• Failure to complete performance requirements during open water dives may result in additional dives being required. This may incur a cost.
• Students are responsible for paying for their dive site entry fees and overnight accommodation (when required).
