For scuba divers first aid with emergency oxygen is the primary treatment for many diving related incidents. Providing emergency oxygen has become standard practice, so it is important that it is immediately available at dive locations and that there are people who know how to provide oxygen in an emergency. This course is designed to show you how to recognise if someone requires oxygen and how to use the different types of oxygen delivery systems.
Requirement
There are not any minimum requirements for this course. It is designed for divers and for people who are around divers.
Course Outline
This course consists of self study and a classroom session, which includes a practical application session. During the course you will learn:
- How to recognise a variety of illnesses such as DCI and near drowning.
- How to set up different types of oxygen delivery systems
- How to administer oxygen
- The 5 minute neurological exam
